THE GOVERNMENT STEPS IN
The "New Deal"By 1933, the storms dropped dust in mayor east coast cities and the government knew something had to be done. President Franklin D. Roosevelt enacted the "New Deal". The New Deal aimed to provide assistance to farmers and others that got affected and suffered during these difficult times.

Then in 1934, the Taylor Grazing Act was enacted by the government that reserved 140 million acres as protected federal lands to insure safe planting and grazing.
In 1935, the Soil Conservation Act, and the Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA) were enacted. The Soil Conservation Act, educated farmers on better farming practices and the Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA), helped to end the overproduction of crops.
Additionally, in the early 1930s, under the New Deal the government launched the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) . Three-million young men volunteered for conservation work, they planted trees, dug ditches and built reservoirs.
Also, between 1933 and 1935, many more programs and agencies were introduced specifically to help people affected by the Dust Bowl, including the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act, the Resettlement Administration, the Farm Security Administration, the Land Utilization Program and the Drought Relief Service.
